Duke nukem forever on pc11/24/2023 ![]() I mostly played Death Match and Team Death Match and found the game play to be quite lacking and definitely compromised of most problems of old days from multi-player games, including spawns points that are quickly learned and easily forecasted, and experienced players guarding the most powerful weapons spawns so the new players spawn in only with a pistol to be easily outmatched by a player with a rocket launcher and rocket pack camping chokepoints to the best weapons. Multiplayer game types for Duke Nukem Forever comes in 4 varieties, Duke Match (DM aka DeathMatch) Team Duke Match (TDM), Capture the Babe (CTB), and Hail to the Kink (HTTK aka King of the Hill). ![]() To further detail the map choices, there were a total of 10 different maps included in the initial offering for Duke Nukem Forever, including Morning Wood, Hoover Damned, Hollywood, Duke Burger, Vegas Ruin, Hive, Sausage Factory, Casino, Erection Site, and Highway Noon, and from the looks of rumored content to be released in the 2nd installment of DLC, their should be 4 DeathMath(aka DukeMatch) maps upcoming. For the good points there was excellent map selection using most in game scenarios, also the idea of leveling up and customizing your Duke character was something to keep experienced players entertained. (AMD optimizer required only for specific AMD processors to run the game correctly, but installs for all of them.Multi-Player and Upcoming DLCMulti-Player was where I found Duke Nukem Forever extremely lacking. Initial installation requires one-time internet connection for Steam authentication software installations required (included with the game) include Steam Client, Microsoft DirectX, Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (ATL), Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable, and AMD Dual Core Optimizer. I've tried the WIN+R stuff, and it continues to try to d/l.Īs far as I can tell, DN requires steam to play, even the retail version. It's really peeing me off to say the least. Should I return the game and get my $$$ back and get a torrent ? I bought the game for $90, but whenever I try to install the game, it logs onto steam and tryz to d/l the game ? Im confused. If you do sell it, the new owner will not be able to use the product (unless if you have bought two copies as Hexit suggested, in which case you can sell the one whose product code you did not activate on steam, or the method of activation for this game is different than other games downloaded through steam) because that game is tied to your account on steam (in the case of two copies being purchased, you can gift one copy if you made a gift purchase on steam or if you bought retail and did not activate the key as mentioned above). If it has tried to download the game from steam, it means you probably have activated that game on steam (if you bought retail) and it is tied to your account on steam (if you purchased it through steam this is even more true). Gunna put it ebay and cut my losses.īased on what you described, it would seem that you activated the retail game through its product code on steam. Thanks to the community for your friendly advice.
